Bucharest Half Marathon & 10K

Once known as 'Little Paris' and now coined as the new Berlin, Bucharest is the Romanian capital with an identity of it's own. It offers a fantastic value and fun weekend away in Eastern Europe. The Palace of the Parliament built under the rule of the communist dictator Ceausescu, is the second largest administrative building in the world (Pentagon first) and must be seen to be believed. 9,000 buildings were demolished to make room for it! Bucharest Old Town is now the hot spot for night-life, and it's Gothic architecture houses magnificent art nouveau interiors. If shopping is your thing then grand boulevards with the best named shops converge on Victoriei Square, or just relax in some of the parks and green areas, or plan a trip to the biggest spa complex in Europe. Whilst in the European Economic Area Romania has retained it's own currency, now the Ron, and you will be surprised at the great value there is to be had.
